Croatia joining the European Union has expanded the opportunities for participation in tenders for the jobs and projects financed from EU funds – Croatia ‘s entry to the EU enabled us to use structural funds (European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund) and the Cohesion Fund, i.e. funds intended for economically less developed areas of the EU.

Beside these funds, Croatia has the possibility to start using funds intended for agriculture, fisheries and rural development, for the preparation for accession to the Schengen area and other programs and initiatives (Source: Delegation of the European Union in Croatia, 2011.).

In addition to the use of EU funds, Croatian national programs and subsidies from different ministries in Croatia, are also an excellent source of financing entrepreneurial projects. By various ministries and agencies (Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Business and Trade, Ministry of Tourism, HAMAG, …) once a year are published grants aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs, entrepreneurship education, boosting tourism, etc. through which entrepreneurs who meet the required criteria can generate substantial amounts of support, depending on the conditions of each tender and the grounds on which the grants are awarded.
